About Us

Who are we?

Part of the Ministry Area of Llantrisant within the Diocese of Llandaff (Church in Wales), the Parish of Llantwit Fardre is a lively and exciting parish covering the communities of Church Village, Tonteg and Llantwit Fardre. It is a welcoming parish placed between the Rhondda Valleys and Cardiff.

In addition to offering regular christian services, baptisms, funerals, weddings and blessings services to the local community, we provide a source of friendship and fellowship to all ages.

About the Church

St. Illtud’s Church is a medieval church on an ancient Celtic site. An extension from the 1970’s enables the church to offer a variety of facilities in addition to the church.

The bell tower is dated 1636 but the long walls of the nave and at least the south wall of the chancel date from the 13th Century, other work is thought to date from 1525. The church was extensively remodelled in the early 1970’s giving a modern, yet traditional interior.
